RFK Jr Says Trump’s team asked him to be his VP, Trump’s people say that never happened. Who’s lying?

Here’s what happened:

In January, RFK Jr was interviewed by a NewsNation reporter in West Virginia. The video of the interview aired, showing RFK Jr matter-of-factly stating that he was asked to be Trump’s running mate. The interviewer asks RFK, if Trump asked him today, what would he say? RFK says he is flattered that Trump would offer it to him but he would not take that job. The interviewer probes: “Did he reach out?”RFK replies, “People from the [Trump’s] team have reached out to me.” Watch that January interview here, starting at 2:40.

Later that same day, Trump’s top campaign aide Chris LaCivitia responds on twitter:

“100% Fake News.” He vehemently states that no such thing ever happened. Click on the screen shot of the tweet to view the original on Twitter (X).

Three days later, in order to confirm their original story or retract it, the New York Post asks the Trump camp if RFK Jr is lying. Campaign spokesman Steven Cheung says, emphatically, vehemently, yes (!) “before referring to LaCivita’s statement.”

This all happened months ago so why bring it up now? Well, we’d have to ask the person RFK has said (in interviews) handles his tiktok and twitter accounts for his run for President, his daughter-in-law Amaryllis Fox Kennedy. As a member of the campaign team, she started out handling her father-in-law’s social media accounts, but then got a huge promotion when she replaced Dennis Kucinich as campaign manager when he resigned. Sure, it’s a little odd that she used to work for the CIA as a covert operative before leaving the intelligence community in 2010 to become a journalist (lolololololol) and now suddenly is running a whole election campaign with no experience. But those are actually only the first, second, and third oddest things on a long list of odd things. The fourth oddest thing is that out of the blue, three days ago, RFK’s twitter account brings it up again, this (disputed) fact that Trump (apparently) asked RFK to be his VP.

“President Trump calls me an ultra-left radical. I’m soooo liberal that his emissaries asked me to be his VP. I respectfully declined the offer.”

Hmmm… the rest of the tweet (“I am against President Trump, and President Biden can’t win. Judging by his new website, it looks like President Trump knows who actually can beat him”) refers to a new Super PAC website — not “Trump’s website” per se — but please take a look for yourself at https://www.radicalf-ingkennedy.com which states that RFK Jr is a looney liberal, etc. (Funny play on words, I thought!)

Now, let’s look at the word choice used in the tweet. Typing “soooo liberal,” with 4 o’s is something a Millennial women (e.g. Amaryllis Kennedy) would do, not a 70-year-old Boomer man. And “emissaries”? Who uses that word a) ever and b) in a tweet in that context? Yeah, probably not Kennedy. But for the sake of argument, let’s say he did type and send the tweet himself.

Why would he lie? And why would he lie about that?

Now, Trump is known to exaggerate and sometimes — on rare occasion — find himself in need of a GPS tracker to get out of the woods and back to the nearest facts station, but why would HE lie? Why would he lie about that???

The way the two Trump campaign members immediately — categorically — refute the claim, with no inconsistencies, is telling. And does that sound like Donald Mr. Art of the Deal Trump? Would the Donald not call RFK Jr directly on his cell if he wanted to make that kind of deal?

This whole story just doesn’t pass the sniff test.

And let’s ask ourselves this: would Trump really ever — ever in a thousand years — ask RFK Jr to be his running mate? Is that even in the realm of possible? In 2018 RFK Jr (or someone operating his twitter on his behalf) tweeted this: “Parkland students are right; the NRA is a terror group.” I take one look at that tweet, and suddenly it seems about as likely to happen as Trump asking Pence to be his running mate again. And the self-proclaimed Father of the Vaccine wanting a very vocal vaccine skeptic as his VP? I can definitely see RFK in a Trump cabinet (Attorney General has a nice ring to it, in a fate-tempting, potentially tragic way). But VP? No way. Especially not with the noise Tulsi has been making (saying on Tucker Carlson that she’d be honored to serve our country as Trump’s VP back in February).

So who’s telling the truth?

They both are.

But the back and forth makes them both look bad. And that benefits Biden.

Makes you wonder, doesn’t it?

What “emissaries”? Who on “the team” reached out? From what phone number or email address? I could download an app today that allows me to buy an unlisted phone number (pick an area code, any area code) and purport to be “reaching out from the team” when that number pops up on the caller ID. Either team. Any team. Especially if I had the resources to make it appear authentic and sincere if someone did take the time to do a reverse look-up of the number. I’d hope Kennedy takes a second look at all correspondence he received from “the team.”

Because here’s what I think. They’re being played. Trump and Kennedy both. Pitted against each other. Doing the Deep State’s job for them, pointing fingers to their own mutual detriment.

Don’t fall for it, guys. You both love our country too much to let this smear either of your campaigns.
